Why Choose Sandals?
With all of the types of footwear out there, why choose sandals? I get asked this a lot. People have so many questions when it comes to sandals. Are there certain types of events that I cannot wear sandals to? Can I wear socks with my sandals? Can I play sports in sandals? Are sandals appropriate for formal events?Well there is not really any right answer. If you ask 100 people, you will likely get a a 'yes' or 'no' about half the time to each one of these questions. A lot of it has to do with with where you live and what the culture says. In the Florida keys where beach culture reigns, you are likely to get a yes nearly 100% of the time. In a more conservative place, you are more likely to get a no answer more often.
In order to answer 'why choose sandals' you need to consider your activity. If you are participating in a sport or activity where you need foot protection, sandals will not be of much use. On the other hand if you need to protect your feet as you walk across a littered parking lot, sandals may be all that you need. They can protect you from any of the nastiness that people may have left there and keep you from a puncture wound. Sandals are also great for wandering around the house, a hotel or resort and are easy to flip off when you want to feel the earth under your feet.
Another answer to the why choose sandals question is that sandals are stylish. Many sandals are not only good looking, but good for your feet. Because of the open nature of the shoes, ventilation is improved and there is the potential for improved foot circulation. They have become so popular, in fact, sandals are becoming popular in cooler climates. Sanuk even has some models of sandals that have fleece inner lining for the die hard sandal wearer. Some companies even market hiking sandals.

Ripa sport sandals are another sandal for the die hard sandal wearer- the outersoles are hard rubber athletic soles designed to be worn. The inner sheep skin fleece will keep your feet warm and dry.
